Objectives

Master the different tools used to evaluate the reliability of an architecture.

  • Be familiar the 4 main types of reliability assessment,
  • Be able to adapt the type of reliability assessment according to the studied system,
  • Practice at least one type of reliability through an exercise.

At the end of the training, the trainee will:

  • Be aware of the different means of reliability assessment,
  • Be able to perform a reliability analysis.

Program

Static reliability

  • Reliability block diagram (serial, parallel, serial-parallel, etc.)
  • System reliability calculation

Dynamic reliability

  • Markov chain (stochastic process, state graph, formulas)
  • Petri nets (principle, representation, marking concept)

Reliability by simulation / modeling

  • Monte Carlo simulation
  • Language-oriented modeling (AltaRica and others)

Assessment for learning: quiz, exercises
